Changes in Birth Certificate - Finally got it

For the first three parts of this series please read
Changes in Birth Certificate
Changes in Birth Certificate - Day 2
Changes in Birth Certificate - Day 3
Finally after 10 days of constant follow up I managed to pick up the birth certificate from the Ward office where I had submitted the completed checked application form. The process in the office is as follows - the birth certificate gets printed here and then goes back to the HUDA building at Tank Bund to get some signatures and then it comes back to the ward office and that is the reason why it gets delayed. Constant follow up is needed. The good part of the whole process was that I did not have to bribe anyone. That's a big step in the right direction. I just hope they make all these processes a lot easier and sleeker. I am sure we can develop as a country much faster if the government got more efficiency into their processes.

Hi, I have a similar but even complex problem. Its like my name and dob both is totally different in my birth certificate. I'm born in 1983 and my parents got birth certificate immediately. But when i was put to school they changed both my name and dob. and ever since then all the records have the new name and dob :( recently i contacted a person who knows about these things, and he told me name can be changed easily by advertising in newspaper and doing some formalities. but he said dob cant be changed. Do you have any idea about this issue? or if anybody else visiting this page please reply. im really stuck.. i have passport, voters id, driving licence, bank account, certificates and everything else on the new dob and name :( please help. I'm from sulthan bathery, wayanad, kerala.

Hi - I have a question, i just got daughter's birth certificate today. Only when i reached home in the evening, i realised that my name or initial is not added to her name.
What can be done to correct this? For eg: her name is Ankita and should now be Ankita Sameer.
Does this require anything major to be done? It is quite good that you had a non-bribe process.

hey, even I need to make some changes in my birth certificate, infact I have to make 3 changes i.e., my name,my mother's and my father's name. I am completely in a fix now since i have all the id proofs, but no two id's of mine have the same name. Neither my mom's nor my dad's id have the same name that i desire to have on the birth certificate.
I really need to make quick progress because I want the certificate ready for the passport application. Since you know the process, can you address me the solution for the problem? Please, it would help me a lot.
Regards...

I choose the names I like and registered for my daugther and son names. Now my wife want the names to be changed after two years. Looking at the posts seems difficult to change names. As some one said we can give some money to officials and try it.
